Acupuncture Gains Medical Approval

Acupuncture is just one form of therapy used within the coherent system of healing known as Traditional Chinese Medicine used in Asian countries to preserve health and diagnose, treat, and prevent illness.

The World Health Organization currently recognizes more than 40 medical problems, ranging from allergies to AIDS, which can be helped by acupuncture. Originating in China more than 2,000 years ago, acupuncture is the most commonly used medical procedure in the world. It is now considered a mainstream procedure in the United States.

In the past two decades, acupuncture has grown in popularity in the U.S. According to the National Institutes of Health there are currently more than 15 million adults in the U.S. that have used acupuncture at some time in the past, or are using it currently.

There are approximately 6,500 licensed acupuncturists in the U.S. and 3,000 doctors who perform acupuncture as part of their medical practice. The U.S. medical community now accepts acupuncture and a growing number of medical schools, such as UCLA; include acupuncture training in their curriculum.

How Acupuncture Works
According to current understanding, the primary signaling system affected by acupuncture is the autonomic nervous system, which not only transmits signals along the nerves that comprise it, but also emits a variety of biochemicals that influence other cells of the body. The nervous system, with over 30 peptides involved in transmitting signals, is connected to the hormonal system via the adrenal gland, and it makes connections to every cell and system of the body.

On going research of acupuncture using Western medicine techniques is showing that:
acupuncture stimulates the release of pain-relieving endorphins
acupuncture influences the release of neurotransmitters, substances that transmit nerve impulses to the brain
acupuncture influences the autonomic nervous system
acupuncture stimulates circulation
acupuncture influences the electrical currents of the body
Advantages of Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the most studied and used medical procedure in the world with over thousands of years in practice. Advances in western techniques are proving the usefulness of acupuncture as a drug free alternative.

Current studies indicate that acupuncture offers symptomatic relief for a variety of diseases and conditions, including low back pain, headaches, migraines and osteoarthritis. It is useful as an additional treatment or an acceptable alternative in a comprehensive pain management program.

In a 2006 a Mayo Clinic study showed that acupuncture significantly improved symptoms of fibromyalgia. The National Institutes of Health just did a study, one of the most comprehensive studies of acupuncture, on fibromyalgia with the same results – it significantly improves the symptoms of this disease.

Holographic Disc & Acupuncture Point

Each holographic disc is easy to use with its adhesive backing in placement over the desired acupuncture point. Each holographic disc is scientifically designed for a specific desired effect such as: more energy, restful sleep, weight loss, or pain relief. Therefore, each acupressure point placement of the holographic disc is chosen to coincide with the effect desired.

For example, the action™ disc is placed on the acupuncture point pericardium 6 on the inside of the right wrist.

The same effect can be replicated with the use of acupuncture needles, however the convenience of wearing the holographic disc are obvious: no needles, no appointments, and low cost.

The holographic disc activates the body’s energy field or biofield, which in turn activates the acupuncture meridians creating a healthy, balanced body, in a non-invasive way.

It isn’t to treat or cure any specific disease; it simply enables the body to function at a higher level of health. When this type of natural optimal environment is present, the body has the capacity to effectively repair and heal itself. Naturally, individual results will vary depending upon numerous personal and environmental factors such as overall state of health, age, diet, etc.
